DMN Discussion in ‘Psychology Today’

Good to see more mainstream articles discussing the link between the default mode network and depression. This author also works at COMPASS Pathways, a company based out of the U.K. that went public last year. They will probably be the first company to bring psilocybin (magic mushrooms) into the global pharma market as the mental health sector increasingly acknowledges the inefficacy of their traditional treatments and begins to explore new options.

One big circle: excessive thinking/sense of self -> DMN activity -> depression/anxiety

meditation/psychedelics -> reduced DMN activity -> reduced ego/thinking -> peace/buddha

Enlightenment/ego death unfortunately isn’t quite on the public radar too much but we’ll get there 😉 It is the logical next step to what people are already heading towards.
