The HHS reported last year that they expect MDMA (for PTSD) and psilocybin (for treatment-resistant depression) to be approved by the FDA within the next couple years, which would be 2023 or 2024. While individual states like Oregon have already moved forward with their own legalization for psilocybin therapy, the FDA approval would likely take center-stage and expand more generally into other off-label uses.
Great news and refreshing to see the government do something useful for a change, even if it is just ending its own ridiculous restriction of a life-changing, naturally-occurring medicine. Onward!
